(Ich möchte jetzt nicht über die Wahl meines Betriebssystems diskutieren.)
Kann mir bitte jemand sagen, was ich einstellen muss, damit ich keine Emoji-Vorschläge passend zum Inhalt meines Textes bekomme? (Hier in Signal, Android 13)

Würde mich ja interessieren, ob da einfach nur abgeglichen wird, womit die Emojis getaggt sind oder ob da noch mehr Auswertung passiert 🫠

The latest #Android #AOSP security patch marks the end of public Android #12 and #12L security patch support.

There are a number of #Automotive #Infotainment systems based on #Android12 or #Android12L, so it'll be interesting to see whether companies provide updates to #Android13 (or, more likely, #Android14), or whether we see head-units left vulnerable to issues discovered in the coming months and years.

Android Open Source ProjectAndroid Security Bulletin—April 2025  |  Android Open Source Project

Google Play System Update (February) rolls out for Samsung devices

Google Play System Update was a feature that was introduced for devices that ship with Android 10 or newer. It’s mandatory for device manufacturers that plan to release their devices with Android 10 to support Google Play System Updates. As a result, non-Google devices, such as Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets released with Android 10 (One UI 2.1), can receive such updates, too.

These updates don’t require security updates from the manufacturer to work, as Project Mainline modules work independently to give you better experience with Android phones and tablets.

On March 11th, a new Google Play System Update has been pushed to Samsung devices. This update upgrades your Project Mainline modules to the February 1st, 2025 version. This update weighs around 61 MB.

To be able to get this version, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your device’s settings
  2. Open the security settings
  3. Find “Google Play System Update” and tap on it
  4. If everything goes OK, you should see the below update dialog:

Click on Download and Install, wait for it to download, then reboot your device by clicking on the blue Restart button. The next time your device boots up, the revised update gets installed, so it’s going to take about 3 minutes maximum to install all the updates.

There is no progress bar, so don’t panic if it looks stuck. Your device will eventually boot up. Now, open your settings app and check your Google Play System Update. If everything is well, you should see February 1st, 2025 below the appropriate button.

In case your device didn’t receive the update, wait for a few days, and it will be available shortly.

Stay tuned for the March patch of 2025!

@mcc @Infoseepage ah, makes sense. That's why I use Linux personally (for decades now). None of that AI stuff, unless you purposefully install it. IMHO Windows is great for gaming (tho many of my titles run on Linux now. Yay!), and in the enterprise of course (where I get my paycheck lol), and that's it.

Something to keep in mind, W10 hits EOL this October, so it won't be patched further after then. #APT groups will increase attacks using #0days once MSFT ceases official support exponentially.

You can still disable #Copilot in the registry of W11 24H3 (Pro and Enterprise SKUs, not Home as far as I can find). Not sure how long that will last though as #MSFT pushes hard to further integrate AI in everything they offer. At least on the Enterprise side they give us #sysadmins control over a lot of that. Consumers have much less control. It's either you embrace it, or change to a different platform.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), Linux is the only non-AI embedded OS left that I'm aware of. The next release of #macOS has #AppleIntelligence built in, #iOS 18.0 and later has it baked in, the latest release of #ChromeOS for Enterprise has #Gemini baked in, and #Android13 has #Gemini baked in on supported devices. As you know, W10 has Copilot optional with supporting hardware, W11 is baked in but can be toggled off. W12 will be a fully AI-OS.

Even still, if you're running any of the latest #IntelUltra processors, they have AI built-in at the hardware level. The new #AMDRyzen processors are doing the same.

I decided to embrace the AI evolution rather than fight it. I use my knowledge and skills to protect myself, my family, and my company as much as is possible, and keep abreast of developments in the sector...I also use AI for #cyberdefense. Only way to keep up with the threat landscape anymore.

For now, I still have control of my bubble lol, and that's about all I can do anymore, short of going completely dark. Not quite there yet lol.
