yerald @yerald@social.coopI find it really weird how consistently uninterested in & standoffish from #Library workers library friends group members seem to be; it's been consistent across the four public library systems I've worked at. I appreciate them, but find it so weird they never seem interested in connecting with or being generally polite to staff, just do their own disconnected meetings and projects. Is this normal?
@yerald I haven’t seen the lack of politeness personally, but I have seen the random disconnected projects! I’m a library volunteer and love my library and all our library workers…and I wonder if the friends group phenomenon is because people want to do their pet projects and to feel important, instead of asking library staff what they need or want for the benefit of the library and its community.
@yerald That hasn't been my experience at all but I've only worked in one place. The Friends there would always stop by the desk and took an interest in all the employees (sometimes an annoying amount of interest for my introverted self lolol)
