I have part-time, remote, paid work on an open-source project for anyone who is proficient with both Rails and Tailwind CSS. Please boost for visibility.

I've set up a basic automatic photo sync from my phone to NextCloud.

Chuffed to get that working.

I struggled in the past with photo syncing via syncthing for that some reason I've forgotten now, and it made me have to stick with Google Photos.

Still a few things to tweak, but good to have ditched Photos.

A 50-Year-Old Global Warming Forecast That Still Holds Up

These predictions were not as well known as some of his other work. The reason for this had to do, as Budyko recalled in a 1990 interview, with most of his colleagues at the time rejecting the idea of unavoidable, long-term #GlobalWarming as something absolutely impossible. It took almost 20 years for the scientific establishment to accept this paradigm.... ...

#Matrix (federated IM/chat system) has an experimental new feature for reply threading. Some devs turned this into a way to replicate a #Twitter-like per-user timeline with post replies. I hope they also build an #ActivityPub bridge.

I wrote a little #rust program to download #music and play it in a random rotation until I have enough of a specific song.
This helps me to find #freemusic I like without much effort.
Currently it only gets #creativecommons music from #jamendo but more sources like #soundcloud are planned.

The idea is that in the future my most played songs can be shared on #mastodon so that users get automatically fed what their friends like.

This post about trust was shared through the practice course I'm taking part in this week.

It breaks down trust into 3 categories of trust networks:
1) relational
2) functional
3) flow of value trust

Found these to be helpful in thinking about the times where discussions around trust seemed to miss their mark and am now realizing perhaps we were talking about different networks of trust!

I lent £150 to the New Leaf Food #Coop when it began in early 2012. Not loads, but a significant sum for me then and now.

It was a workers coop, where all employees equally own the business. Their aim was to supply local and/or ecological foods with as little packaging as possible: they were ahead of the curve back then

Today, ~9 years later, the coop is doing fine and paid me back the £150!

Worth visiting if in #Edinburgh
