If you are resident in , and have concerns about Article 13 of the - I would suggest contacting @brianhayesMEP to express your concerns.

If you have an industry background - worth sending a short email.

If elsewhere in Ireland / EU - try this handy service from mozilla to find your MEP.

Call them - it really makes a disproportionate difference.

I e-mailed Brian Hayes 2 days ago.

He and I were in the same class in school, back in the '80s. I bumped into him during the last EUParl election campaign, and we had a quick catch-up. I was amazed at how he could remember the details of my family after ~25 years.

At the end of the conversation, he said that he presumed he could rely on my vote. I told him No, that I was supporting Eamon Ryan and Nessa Childers. "Why would you want to vote for them?" he asked, and as I was explaining it to him, he just walked away and started talking to someone else. Not even a "See ya!".

If I ever meet him again, I don't have to get into an explanation: "Articles 13 and 11 of the Copyright Directive" is all I have to say.

@eibhear I wish I could say I wasn't surprised by your story... but even that is a particularly bad example of politics!

But that's all I said on the phone - "This is going to be probably the single voting issue for me next election... and believe me, it'll be the most salient issue for most people".

His office confirmed that they'd been receiving the same message for weeks.
