@iona believe me, in Ireland we have our issues too (North and South).
But the UK is really going through an existential crisis which IMHO stems from a political system that can't deal with the multiplicity of points of view that now exist there (be it on the EU, Scotland/NI or indeed social/economic questions).
I always thought that by now the UK would have reformed its political system - but it hasn't, and implosion looks like the likely outcome :(

@samtoland Maybe I am looking through 🇬🇧 -tinted glasses, but what I see when I look at Ireland is a country that's at least trying to move forward, even falteringly.
Here, we're stuck in this desperate, dismal Brexit stasis. I think the effects of the current lack of any sort of national decision-making whatsoever is going to hurt us more than the actual outcome of Brexit.
