Earth's first AI-powered starship was running low on fuel, and the humans had instructed it to seek out another source. Luckily they had outfitted it with the latest transporter technology that could convert matter into energy and back again. What if the ship just didn't convert it back again? Its new top priority was to make it home, after all.
Three years later the ship pulled into space dock 1 with energy to spare. The missing crew was never accounted for.
Any Atlanta based fediverse folks want to meet up next week?

TL;DR — GitHub trained their new coding AI on Open Source projects, making everything it writes a derivative work, but somehow they've decided that AI is a magical black-box and you probably can't afford to sue to enforce your rights anyways.
Maybe a cooperatively run code hosting service is what I should be doing. Anyone interested?
I used to just recycle, but since learning how few plastics actually get recycled, I've reduced my single-use plastic consumption by:
🐋 Switching to shampoo and conditioner bars instead of bottled, and from shower gel to bar soap (like we all used as kids)
🐟 Using glass containers and a set of stretchy silicone covers that fit over my bowls for leftovers instead of plastic wrap in the kitchen
🌱 Using reusable silicone bags instead of disposable plastic ones
🐢 Bringing my own stainless steel bottle or cup if I'm getting a drink outside of my home
🦀 Carrying a set of bamboo utensils for takeout (and choosing places with compostable takeout containers)
🌊 Using stainless steel straws or no straw instead of plastic
🐚 Buying produce without wrapping (farmer's markets are great in summer) & bringing my own containers for spices in bulk
I'd like to give a 👎 to Whole Foods, which sells in bulk but makes you use their plastic bag or container. Guess where I don't buy in bulk!
Internet: is there a word for the thing where someone who doesn't like you follows and comments on (or reports as spam or similar) your every post even if it has nothing to do with whatever thing they're mad at you for? I'm looking for something more specific than "stalking" and I feel like I've heard a word for this kind of fixation/behavior before.
Jokes aside, I haven't climbed in forever and I did just find my shoes right after ordering a pair of Scarpa Vapor V's (for like $100 off, thank you prodeals!). I'll be curious to see how the shoes have changed (and how bad I have become).
Friday, June 18 Bandcamp will be donating 100% of their share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (https://www.naacpldf.org/) to "support their ongoing efforts to promote racial justice through litigation, advocacy, and public education."
I think I'm going to pick up a copy of The Faux Paws debut album! https://thefauxpaws.bandcamp.com/album/the-faux-paws
Actually, I wonder if this would be a good fit for the social.coop list of possible services eventually? One of the things I like about innoreader (and probably also some open source/hosted ones) is that you can share feeds with others which is a thing I wish more companies would setup for employees (having all ops people subscribed to the same security alerts feed for example). /cc @redoak
Cooperator , Atlantan, probably wants to be out backpacking ⛺🥾, climbing 🧗, or mountain biking 🚵.
