So what *is* the deal with airline food?

@sam is it that the airlines got rid of it on domestic flights to cut costs like 20 years ago?

@james I feel like I've never gotten an answer to that question, but that does sound reasonable…

@sam there's also the thing where the conditions of air travel, particularly the noise I think, makes food taste different and they try, with only partial success, to modify the flavor profile to account for these conditions
