@risabee The sad thing is, this is how the Internet we have began. If we build another one, it will be co-opted just the same as soon as it demonstrates commercial value.

It's like destroying and evil government, if you don't destroy the forces which created it in the first place, it will just re-create itself in whatever you do next...

@risabee The biggest worry I think the US isn't the loss of "net neutrality" itself but "selective deregulation" in general that only benefits the large incumbents, many of whom ironically achieved their success on the backs of previous regulation in the analogue telephone era.

Those same anti-neutrality lobbyists have a record of suppressing municipal broadband initiatives and foreign investment and so forth (ie. push for regulation that benefits only them). Don't let them do that!
