Oh, I should mention: I am currently a freelance Django developer, but I'm *very* interested in finding a few like-minded folks to build a development co-op.
Especially interested in building secure and/or federated versions of the items on this list: https://dymaxion.org/essays/pleasestop.html
@gdorn i must admit that I've not given a lot of thought to all of the steps involved in making my toot a reality but I'm certainly thinking more about it now!
@redoak This essay is fantastic, thanks for the link. Have you seen the Dat Project, and the tools that are starting to be built up around it? Beaker (browser), Mapeo (maps), Cabal (chat), Dat (filesharing)? It's a pretty cool community ... I'm myself hoping to add my $.02 by developing decentralized water / farm infrastructure using their ecosystem ... anyhow, cheers!
@redoak It looks like we're so close to some of the solutions. I appreciate a consolidation of this information. I've been trying to figure out how to use reddit like voting to prioritize all of these tools. There are many sites that do this, however most are biased towards selling ads, not improving the software they're sharing. All of these components are still disconjoined. Any ideas/strategies for glueing it all together?
