I sometimes wonder why I haven't deleted my Facebook yet, given that none of the people I use it to stay connected with use it anymore (much like me). It's basically a spam slurry of clickbait listicles, crappy memes from groups I'm not a part of, and ads.

But I like the thought that, on some level, it became a digital infrastructure basic that Zuck & co. could no longer disengage from — self-condemned to maintaining and tinkering in perpetuity, never quite to satisfaction of the faceless shareholders.
