Is there a reasonable path emerging to bridge Social.coop to Bluesky federation?
Bridgy is probably our best bet for the foreseeable future: https://snarfed.org/2023-11-15_bridgy-fed-status-update-9
@ntnsndr There is a project in development that aims to make that possible. As far as I know, they still need some more things to be done on BlueSky's end before it can fully work. People post to the group @activitypubblueskybridge about it.
Here's a recent update from @snarfed.org: https://snarfed.org/2023-11-07_bridgy-fed-status-update-8
@tuckerm @activitypubblueskybridge @snarfed.org@snarfed.org I love that the fediverse lets one post to a group even when your app doesn't support groups
@ntnsndr Definitely, very cool. And also to kbin/lemmy communities, even if your app doesn't support groups or upvotes.
@ntnsndr You mean like https://berjon.com/ap-at/ ? I don't think that we need to bridge so much as integrate.
@robin yes yes yes! Whatever it takes for users to be able to a) be where they feel cozy, and b) interact with the wider open social web.
@ntnsndr @christina Bluesky federation won’t be available until 2024Q1 at the earliest.
