@Matt_Noyes @nicksellen can't speak for Nick but i've been using my beard clippers (came with a set of guards size 0-8) for most of mine, then scissors to trim the... bangs i guess? loosely following advice from youtube videos.

@Matt_Noyes @redoak I used clippers for most of it, including the top. From 18mm down to 3mm. And then some scissors too for on top.

I don't need to look as neat as him either, so when he said to be really slow and careful, I was more like fuck it, I haven't got all day...

@Matt_Noyes @nicksellen @redoak So I used two different types of clippers for my hair recently and the more expensive equipment was exponentially better.
@kawaiipunk @Matt_Noyes @redoak yes, nice clippers seem worth it and will be more durable etc. I'm on my third set now :( ... Each set is slightly better than the previous set, I've had these a few years at least now, although would prefer something better again.
I'd have to go and actually look to see what they are. I think they cost around £40

@Matt_Noyes @nicksellen @kawaiipunk nice! My last tip is consider keeping some kind of product ready in case you need to fudge it for a video call (or... a week 😆) while a rough edge grows out
@redoak @Matt_Noyes @nicksellen My tip would be, don't consider it a one time thing. Tweak your haircut over a few days as you gain objectivity.

@Matt_Noyes i got this kit a few years ago; been using it ~weekly to trim my beard with no problems, plus occasional kid haircuts and now my own hair once a month. i'm sure there are nicer options out there but this works for me, so far. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BB5YHFC/
