I just spent too long reading through the drama about planetary.social/ (VC funded started) joining the scuttlebutt ecosystem.

I know distributed tech is kinda fun and cool, but I can't help but feel a simple old tech forum could have contained all the interesting conversations. Given most of the content I read is about the platform, then maybe there wouldn't be so much left anyway.

I think we can go a long way with existing tech, just increasing access to it and control over it.
