@carbontwelve it all depends on the features you like to use. I for example prefer 7.1 over 7.0 mainly for nullable types and void returns.

I am thinking about organizing a screening of the "Accidental Anarchist" this summer in Cologne. Anyone interested?

You know what I strangely remember from like 2nd or 3rd grade its that at some point we had a whole class lesson on identifying brands and what they're called like Ford and McDonald's n shit like that what sort of capitalist dystopia did I experience

Finally switched to Debian/Gnome after using macOS for years, and I gotta say I'm impressed. So far everything just works, all the apps I use are available, l haven't ran into any issues with getting stuff like WIFI or sleep working.

Overall, I have to say that Linux on the desktop has come a very long way since I last tried it. Feels nice to be back on an open source OS again. :)

my mechanic keeps the wifi off on his phone because he's trying to avoid fake WiFi networks that will steal all the info off his phone. I had to resist the urge to say "my dude, let me tell you about fake cell towers..."

Troubleshooting one silent speaker on Debian gave me quite a scare. Luckily it turned out not to be the sound card. A few reboots fixed the issue, as it usually does...

I’m seeing #Plemora in my #Fediverse!!!

Not only can I find other people on other #Mastodon instances, I can find people on other Social Media platforms!!!

How fucking cool is this!

I’m going to go follow @rek2 ’s #peertube video feed: @rek2 - Cause I can!

@matty I've tried several tutorials that used docker, but I'm a docker-noob and I fear I'm doing something wrong with the setup there.

@bgcarlisle I've been through many outdated once already. There's always something that breaks. But I'll have a go nonetheless, thank you very much!

@myrmidex dunno if this will help, but I used mastible (ansible playbook) to provision my DO+ubuntu instance

github.com/staticsafe/mastible (I think)

Does anybody know of a good and up to date for setting up a instance?

I tried the official one, as well as a few outdated docker tutorials, but none seem to work for my particular digitalocean+ubuntu setup.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'll try to get it running on Wine, hopefully that works. I'm just sick of paying through the nose for a payroll service, hence the questions, but I guess that's the price I have to pay for making all this relatively easy to do.

Hello Mastodon. Could you help me out with pointing me to some resources dealing foss invoicing software and payroll systems? I'd be much obliged!

I've updated my notes for upgrading a #Mastodon instance (using docker) and doing some backups :)

Maybe this can help other people than me ^^
