@carbontwelve it all depends on the features you like to use. I for example prefer 7.1 over 7.0 mainly for nullable types and void returns.

Finally switched to Debian/Gnome after using macOS for years, and I gotta say I'm impressed. So far everything just works, all the apps I use are available, l haven't ran into any issues with getting stuff like WIFI or sleep working.
Overall, I have to say that Linux on the desktop has come a very long way since I last tried it. Feels nice to be back on an open source OS again. :)
@matty I've tried several tutorials that used docker, but I'm a docker-noob and I fear I'm doing something wrong with the setup there.
@bgcarlisle I've been through many outdated once already. There's always something that breaks. But I'll have a go nonetheless, thank you very much!
Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'll try to get it running on Wine, hopefully that works. I'm just sick of paying through the nose for a payroll service, hence the questions, but I guess that's the price I have to pay for making all this relatively easy to do.
Hello Mastodon. Could you help me out with pointing me to some #freelance resources dealing foss invoicing software and payroll systems? I'd be much obliged!
I've updated my notes for upgrading a #Mastodon instance (using docker) and doing some backups :)
Maybe this can help other people than me ^^
