My progress on establishing a more effective morning routine has plateaued, so I decided to start doing the routine no matter what time of day I get up. There's no reason it has to only happen when I get up at the time I want. Might as well accept reality - I'm not waking up when I want right now - and work on the habit itself instead. @willtochaos Yeah.. after many years, I finally got my sleep mostly under control with a combination of daytime light and microdose melatonin, but lately it's been a bit more resistant, I'm sure mostly because I'm trying to push it earlier than ever.
I figured out the final pieces of the light + melatonin technique after finding that, when I go camping and avoid alcohol, I sync to the solar cycle in about 3 days no matter where my sleep was before. Such a surprise, I know :p
@muninn I have severe trouble with waking up intentionally and consistently at the same hour. But it is a good idea to start the routine no matter what :)
