I've heard that #bipolar involves three potentially decoupled oscillations: subjective mood, physical energy level, and mental energy level. (This was in a description of mixed state as high physical & mental energy and low mood.)
Anyway, my mental energy is high rn and of the friends I've managed to cobble together, most of them remote at this point, all are either unavailable or unable/uninterested to play along.
It is frustrating to need a lot of intellectual engagement but get very little.
@muninn I haven't quite got a handle on how it works, it could either be that the prefrontal cortex is too excitable to listen, or that the pathway is between that part of the brain in the amygdala are simply not very good at transmitting signals.
It seems to be related to genes associated myelination and I have a bunch that affect multiple sclerosis ala the immune system.
I'm guessing why fixing my gut is so drastically helpful. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4872400/

@muninn I've had some luck with my own condition by modeling the subjective mood state as an inward sensing versus outward sensing. Or more literally modeling it on top of medataive concepts of self mapped to parts of the brain that seem responsible for various sensations.
The notion that in certain experiential modes, feelings of fear dissipate: might literally be that the amygdala is having trouble communicating to the part of our brain that controls planning and rational thought.
