I participated in a webinar yesterday about Modo car sharing based in Vancouver. The big hook for this consumer co-op is that they have developed their own software to managed the car sharing service (600 cars). They allow start-ups (under 5 cars) to use the software at no cost and then charge a maintenance fee (to cover the cost of development) for larger carsharing co-ops.
