Why don't we have Renaissance fairs, but where everything is just Skyrim? Don't even have to do anything.
Basically I just described taking a trip to New Zealand and walking around.
This means that open source is not only great and ethical, but it is in the best interest of or national security. That makes me inspired, energized, and angry at the state of things all at the same time.
Occuring to me more and more that the interference in our election was, in part, perpetuated by data-collection business models.
Sensational false stories will always get boosted by Facebook's algorithms because they want to keep your attention for as long as possible.
Even if they start alerting users to fake news, it will still already have prioritized it because of engagement.
The ONLY path forward I see is too support and build open, ethical alternatives and business models.
