I'm trying to figure out how (under capitalism) "AI" will ever "take programming jobs"? (I only have one citation of someone claiming this, but let's take for granted that many people are claim it seriously)

an AI system is either built on (a) lots of data or (b) lots of formal rules; being "competitive" will always require creating innovative forms of these; making systems for data formalization, collection and storage—and making new formal rules—are kinda exactly the definition of programming

Hot take: I’d argue that this happened at the creation of the first compiler.

I could probably write a book about this but I’ll stop here for now :)
