@codesections This entire thread now makes me want to confuse the shit out of people when I tell them that I:
- Duck-searched it.
- Quacked it up.
- Ducked it.
- Put some feathers on it.
- Web-foot walked that shit.
- TCPed with DDG on the 443.
Just so they ask for clarification and fall into my trap where I explain how terrible google is and suggest alternatives :)

Not only is this an excellent idea, I feel that the suggestion is a highly effective honeypot 🍯

@thomasfuchs I've yet to see anything I like better than the Sharp X1 (a Z80 system from Japan). Beautiful red case, builtin tape deck, matching keyboard and CRT.
@christianbundy I got #scuttlebutt working and I really like it! The high-res images are a real treat 👌 Not sure it's for me though... I feel that the kind of bite-sized interactions I'd want to have with internet strangers are better mediated over mastodon, although perhaps it's just a case of finding the right people to share that richer content with 🤔

How this is discussed, how people listen to each other, how creative solutions are sought out, defines the capacity of humans to create real change.
The alternative is that innovation is just us moving the world’s problems from one platform to another.
I've just completed the "applied accessibility" module on freeCodeCamp. Amazing stuff! Chuffed that this is suitably prominent in a web-design curriculum.

This is how NASA writes software:
I want the software driving cars around my family to be held to the a similar standard of quality. In the context of self-driving cars, "Move fast and break things" means "Half-arse it and kill people."
Humans in the USA manage 1.16 fatalities per 100,000,000 miles travelled. Uber's software couldn't even get to 3 million miles before it killed someone.
We do this properly, or not at all.
The gyroscopic necks of #chickens will never cease to amaze me
