Is anybody aware of any platform coops for artists - portfolio, commissions, print-on-demand, craft sales, things like that? #socialcoop
@ajeremias Sure! Or like redbubble/society6 for a more PoD focus, or Etsy for a more crafty focus... Just wondering what is out there, if anything.
@hyperlinkyourheart @ajeremias Stocksy for photographers seems in the ballpark; @ntnsndr might know of others for other forms...
@mattcropp @ntnsndr @ajeremias Thanks, I came across that one when googling. Probably not really for me, but good to know about anyway.
@hyperlinkyourheart @ajeremias @mattcropp Also Resonate, for music. And for AR and games, this is up and coming: http://eyemole.io. Those could be great folks to connect with.
BTW, I should just say one of my top-5 priorities right now is helping to catalyze the first #platformcoop game. We need our Crypto Kitties.
@mattcropp @ajeremias @hyperlinkyourheart Well, better than CK. Something more like this: http://store.toolboxfored.org/
@ntnsndr @mattcropp @ajeremias Great stuff, thanks! TESA was definitely something I was looking at at thinking, what if this but videogames :3 Do you think there's a distinction to be made between coop game studios and coop game distribution platforms maybe?
@hyperlinkyourheart @mattcropp @ajeremias for sure. it'd be great to see both coops studios but also coop games -- esp. ongoing games with internal economies e.g. Second Life, WoW, etc.
@hyperlinkyourheart I don't know but I'm super interested in responses.
@artsyhonker I'll let you know of any I get. So far just https://www.stocksy.com/ which is for stock photography and video
@hyperlinkyourheart not aware of any up and running beyond Stocksy (stock photo coop).
Platform coop structures for media and artists has been my main focus for the last few years so if you got half a dozen artists serious about starting one I’d be happy to share some thoughts as a starting point.
@rbenjamin I don't right now, aside from maybe @artsyhonker, but if I hear of any more interest I'll come back to you. I'm a bit unsure of exactly what I need myself at this point, and even more so where my needs overlap with other people's
@hyperlinkyourheart @rbenjamin @artsyhonker So one thing I've been thinking about is whether it's possible to form a co-op using the @Liberapay team function. I am up Tomy eyeballs in PhD and side project stuff until at least June 2019 so can't do a lot about this yet.
@artsyhonker @rbenjamin I haven't really used Liberapay, but another option to consider might be OpenCollective: https://opencollective.com/
That's what #socialcoop are using to manage their finances
@hyperlinkyourheart check are.na amigo, but I saw sth yesterday, not sure how does it work and even what's that precisely
@pepemao Ok, thanks for the tip
@hyperlinkyourheart something like deviantart?
