On a non-Masto site I just saw some unfriendly (and unwelcome) comments about a pregnant woman's shape.
First of all, don't do this. Like, ever. It's exhausting to field random subjective statements about your body.
Second, just FYI - super tall people often don't look pregnant even when they're very far along. Longer torsos give the bebe a lot of room, so their little bodies don't round outward as much. It's still normal. Be delighted by neat anatomical variety. Privately. To yourself.
This discussion reminded me of an interview I heard on NPR a few weeks ago w/ an author of a children's book about a boy w/ one arm. It's aimed at disabled kids, giving them permission to not answer questions about their bodies. It acknowledges the often unspoken belief people tend to have that if you're different, you must want someone to comment on it, to break tension (and how this needs to STOP). I can't remember the title. Anyone know it?
