I need to access the wonderful Mastodon community to ask why doesn't J. Herbin ink work in fountain pens? I have two bottles, both do have sparkle in them. They just don't work in my Kawecos or Lamys. This photo is from JetPens and shows a Lamy in front of Émeraude de Chivor. I have that ink: it does NOT come out of an EF Lamy, just sticks, makes scratch marks. Regular Lamy ink flows beautifully.

Can you only use J. Herbin with dip pens?

@hollie I use some J Herbin shimmer inks in pens with larger nibs (stub, broad) including Émeraude de Chivor. They work. I would be less confident in them with an EF for sure. Things that might help: make sure you're doing some things to gently agitate the ink while writing (when you pause, rotate the pen in your hand, flip it around, etc). Also, when not in use, store nib up.
