"Linux Study Argues Monolithic OS Design Leads To Critical Exploits"

The article argues that a microkernel architecture can be more secure.
Does this mean the day has finally come for GNU Hurd?
@alanz Isn't that old news? Microkernels are accepted to be cleaner and safer than monolithic ones, but cost of switching and/or slowness stop people from switching.
I think it is more a recognition that the trade-offs need to be revisited, speed is no longer the chief driver.
@alanz ok this is kind of insane "and 40% completely eliminated".
@alanz the year of gnu hurd on the desktop
