'Elitist den of hate': Silicon Valley pastor decries hypocrisy of area's rich liberals

[The Guardian are reading the tea leaves of social democracy brewing among the youth]

A Silicon Valley pastor has resigned from his church after calling the city of Palo Alto an “elitist shit den of hate” and criticizing the hypocrisy of “social justice” activism in the region.

Gregory Stevens confirmed on Monday that he had stepped down from the First Baptist church of Palo Alto

@h Finally someone proximate to their own circles said it though. Otherwise it wouldn't have been taken seriously.

@mrjunge I doubt they do. It's a cult of their own, the only function that a church could fulfill for them would be validation.

Humanity and spiritualism coming from any conceivable source, religious and otherwise, will be met with the most fierce resistance.

@h The most comfortable religion for them is the type you can wear as a fashion garment at the Gallery.

@h But yeah, you're right. But at least reacting counts as some taking serious. I've seen people outside their circles give them the same charge (sometimes in nice nicer words), but be roundly ignored.

@mrjunge It's going to take a hundred thousand priests and rabbis to make a dent in that monolith.

It's quite possibly worse than you think.

@h there are churches in Silicon Valley?

@jjg Well, there was this Palo Alto pastor at least, until today.
