Thanks to everyone writing descriptions (alt text) for your images!
Those of you who are not...you're making me sad. Please start. Even a super quick basic description of what's in the image is better than nothing
@graue something I have regrettably neglected in the past but I'm trying to make sure I do it with every image I post here.
@graue Olease also keep in mind that accessibility is not ITSELF accessible to #disabled people.
I have fatigue issues. If I can’t alt text I don’t post. BUT that makes posts less appealing.
So a feature meant to help one disabled can also harm the SAME group or in this case ANOTHER disabled group.
Luckily the tools here are better so if it’s just adding about extracting text? Easy.
But when you have MEDICAL fatigue or malaise & you want to share your art? You’re screwed.
@graue The times I have not, it was because the image wouldn’t post via the official app and I used an alternative app without the alt prompt
@graue I’m so sorry it’s only screenshots that I haven’t. Can I go back and edit them? Is that a thing?
