blockchain, grammar prescriptivism
I can't stand how the word "blockchain" is used currently, sans articles (a, the), because there's often more than one of them.
Substitute the word you actually mean and make the grammar work. In many cases, you mean "database" in which case "using a blockchain" is correct. In rare cases, you're using the word as a brand*, so pretend it means "postgres" in which case "using blockchain" is correct.
* probably because you're trying to impress VCs.
