there was a gorgeous ISS flyover tonight! there are 6 people living inside that tiny dot πŸ’«

This is very difficult to search for, so I'll ask here... Has anyone seen plans for an on-demand book printer (not a 3D printer)?

which raid level is it that stores the 1s on one drive and the 0s on the other

if people like it and want to actually use it, it's not hard to move the domain over to git.social.coop

hey social dot co-opers! i set up a gitlab instance for social.coop! please use it!

hey social dot co-opers! i set up a (test) matrix server for social.coop! please use it! i'm so lonely!

and all watched over by machines of loving grace.

I'm really happy to see people hosting their own pleroma instances, making it easy to host small instances and empowering the participants in the fediverse is one of the main goals of the project.

it took two years, but I finally finished building a full-stack factory in my bedroom :) and now, the real fun begins.

Another upcoming #activitypub project, #prismo, is a federated link aggregation app. This could replace Reddit, Hacker News, and Lobsters. Looking forward to this.
@prismo

#activitypub based Link Aggregation app is coming really soon! 🀠

Hey folks, this trans feminist bike zine Kickstarter is only $300 and 8 days away from getting funded. I already chipped in $25 (well, more in CAD lol), please consider donating as well! kickstarter.com/projects/ellyb

would anyone be interested in a gitea instance for social.coop? I've been running one for myself for awhile, but it's kinda overkill for one person. it'd be super quick to spin up another instance and gitea is super lightweight, so I'd be happy to host it for everyone if someone (@mayel?) can point git.social.coop my way

Homeserver progress: I've configured my domain names and have portforwarded HTTPS.

I think I'll continue tomorrow when I can be confident that the domains have propagated. Then I'll setup Let's Encrypt as HTTPS is necessary for authentication into this server to be secure, and it gives some more privacy (though not from me).

We're really good at spreading stuff when we think people do wrong, but we rarely take the time to spread it when they admit to those faults and apologize and try to go better.

is anyone else having problems with tootdon and social.coop?

to the fediverse,

sorry in advance if any of my instancemates come off as rude or disrespectful, especially over the next couple of days. I promise it's not intentional - we're just really, really excited and eager to help!

so plz don't hesitate to point it out whenever a social dot cooper gets a lil too cooperative and starts butting into convos or won't shut the fuck up about co-ops. something something they know not what they do (which is why you should tell them)
