"The FCC has come clean on the fact that a purported hack of its comment system last year never actually took place, after a report from its inspector general found a lack of evidence supporting the idea. Chairman Ajit Pai blamed the former chief information officer and the Obama administration..."

Can we get NPM packages hosted on GitHub flagged as security risks?
So, who has started working on an #ActivityPub #ActivityStreams federation protocol for #git pull requests, forking, issue tracking, identity/membership/permissions, following, etc?

In which I argue that maybe we would be better off without a presidency: https://www.americamagazine.org/politics-society/2018/05/30/how-survive-trump-end-cult-presidency
Y'all, I gotta take a minute to brag about my city, nestled deep in the conservative south of the US. We just elected the most progressive mayor and county commission in history. The entire election had a very strong progressive outcome, with all but one of the candidates endorsed by our local progressive activism organisation winning their respective races.
So proud of my hometown, and so excited for its future!!

Somehow didn't see this until now. Lil dude has a point.
"Your Honor, years ago I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind then that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it; and while there is a criminal element, I am of it; and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free." - Eugene V. Debs
The #SocialCoop domain almost expired but is now renewed and we should be federating again!
Trying to ditch #Atom and adopt #Vim (#Neovim to be precise.)
I'm using #vim-plug and a few different plugins I've found to try and get a similar setup to what I had in Atom, but honestly feel a little lost and somewhat like I'm in over my head.
Anyone have some good resources for editor migrants like me? Anything that will help the transition is very welcome!
Not ready to make this a formal proposal but wherever practicable social.coop should use cooperative and/or FLOSS tools.

I'll add that I'm not totally sure I agree with the "charge money for social media" thing, as I'm not too keen on putting information behind paywalls. Feels classist.
However, I do think it'd be a better option than the current way of "doing social media".
I still think decentralization, user-ownership, and cooperative management are likely the best ways forward, as I'd rather no company own a social media platform (whether funded via ads or user subscriptions).
Regardless: #FuckZuck
