I look forward to the Guardian producing a clear ranking of acceptable reasons to quit the Labour party.
To be fair to Gary Younger, whenever I see someone quitting Labour over Brexit, I can't help but think 'Really? The Jew-hate didn't put you off?'. But to be equally fair to him, the Jew-hate hasn't put him off, either.

You know how some people complained about 'ForceTime' in TLJ, with Ren and Rey chatting easily from different planets? Didn't Luke and Vader do almost exactly that at the end of Empire? The shots don't make it clear whether they can see one another, but no one says they can't either.

UK politics; racism; antisemitism Show more

Like an idiot, I spent my lunchbreak checking online Labour members' views of the latest Corbyn antisemitism revelation. General tone is 'Corbyn's right, Israel does control the UK media and US foreign policy'. These racist tropes are now normalised in the Labour party.
I will not be voting Labour today because there are no local elections in my area.

But if there were, hoo boy, then I would have a thing to say.
Two things that are both true:

1. The UK, including under the Tories, has done more to tackle climate change than most countries.
2. The UK, including under the Tories, has not done enough to tackle climate change.
The simple answer to the we-must-stop-overpopulation argument is to insist that anyone making it start with themselves. In one fell swoop, we solve the overpopulation problem and the having-to-listen-to-people-talking-about-overpopulation problem.

Friendly reminder: In a world where so many people are cruel for the sake of it, the most punk thing you can do is to be kind without expecting anything in return.

This is good on possible futures for and the climate movement (UK-focus, but applies elsewhere):

I was late to work today because of @ExtinctionR and GUESS FUCKIGN WHAT I still support them because the climate is obviously more important. Perspective, guys.

People keep making this argument that in the UK is pointless and that they should go and protest in China. But, like, how?

#ExtinctionRebellion #InternationalRebellion Oxford Circus in London is looking a lot more fun than usual, with the pink boat float blasting music to around a thousand ravers and rebels. Arrests are happening slowly and the situation is often tense, but the police seem somewhat overwhelmed.

Someone really needs to write one of those 'How to change someone's mind' articles, except it's, 'How to have your mind changed'.

Pixelfed will be a year old in a few days.

I'm a high school dropout that has never taken any CS or computer classes.

Web development is just a hobby of mine, I work in the auto industry.

I'm so proud of this project, I never would have imagined that I could make something like this.

Thank you for helping me realize credentialism isn't so important as you think. ❤️ :pixelfed:

So I have recently come back to Mastadon (mainly and I'm looking for more people to follow.
Specifically looking for people interested in:

#laboratory / #laboratory_science

And like pretty much anything else similar to the above. So if you toot a lot of things related to the above I would greatly appreciate if you retoot, favourite or reply to this.
