Has anyone else tried to file an application for a US passport recently?
I tried to fill out the online application, which is supposed to generate the form to mail in. It doesn't. I thought it might have a hard dependency on Acrobat Reader, so I tried it in a Windows VM, but that doesn't work either.
@foolishowl When my wife and I got passports, we went Luddite. Filled out the paper applications in pen, went in person to the post office, with our birth certificates and what all. Got our pictures at the p.o. too. Now I have to get passports for our grandchildren, in case we all have to bug out.

I used a paper application when I applied for my passport, but I did seem to have better luck than you at getting the online form to output a pdf. It's just that I kept losing track of the pdfs and eventually gave up.
With needing to print the form out and attach a physical photo in any case, I'm not sure that the online form is really all that useful, though. I believe that if you don't have a printer, you can pick up a physical application at a post office.
