I love git-annex
Thank you @joeyh <3
@cwebber I know you know what this means. tnx
@dckc @joeyh @cwebber I made an overview here, but not overly in-depth:

@nobodyinperson @dckc @joeyh Oh very cool!
@cwebber @dckc I think there is a big lack of videos of the sort "here's how I use git-annex in this specific circumstance, in case you were wanting to do the same kind of thing".
Fields where examples like that have built up tend to have a lot more git-annex users. Neuroscience for one. When I listen to neuroscientists talking about how to use git-annex I barely understand them half the time though. ;-)
I collect videos at https://git-annex.branchable.com/videos/ and there are a few general presentations there, I recommend the ones done by other people than me.
@joeyh @cwebber That's exactly it.
git-annex is sort of a storage system builder's kit. I want to know that there's a community of people using it with the same patterns I am.
I (want to) manage confidentiality vs. availability using commons, mass-media, and family-media. Should those be separate repos? Or use metadata to separate them? hard to say.

@joeyh @cwebber Oh... and don't get distracted by the Amazon music endorsement. Of course, that service has gone poof.
This Christmas, my wish was/is that my wife and kids would choose #music or #games or whatever from #indie artists for me to buy for them and for us to enjoy together.
The budget is: up to whatever we spend on evil streaming subscriptions, a la https://www.madmode.com/2014/aaronsw-match
@joeyh @cwebber I'm trying it out and really struggling.
It took me about 4 tries on each end to set up repositories on each of 2 machines. I kept getting ~/annex/annex and stuff.
Then `git annex add FOO` did nothing. After some flailing, I realized I had already added FOO and all its cousins somehow. I have no idea how to undo that.
