RT @seldo@twitter.com: I owe my career to an endless parade of total strangers who took time out to teach me stuff and help me out, either indirectly or one on one in forums and chat rooms. I can't ever pay them back, so I do my best to pay it forward.

re ~ our recent toots...

Almost on cue & reinforces my experience

Theres a lot of knowledgeable people who are very happy to take the time to share stuff /teach all kinds of subjects. I've pretty much always found someone/somewhere to get info/advice. Quality can be poor thru to excellent , not quite the quality control that exists in academia - although quality in academia not a given - corporate capture, ideological capture (eg. the way economics is taught) etc.
