I know I am not the only person who thinks that an academic tells on themselves when they claim that AI is going allow everyone to have their own graduate student who is always “on call, to perform research, draft papers, run experiments, do paperwork, handle administrivia—to handle all the gruntwork and let you focus on what’s actually important.”

I would not trust anyone who tries to sell a technology on the basis that it will give you the power of holding indentured servitude over others.
