Thanks for this article, I enjoyed reading it. My father is of the silent generation, and is very concerned about product longevity, reuse. Currently he's been unsuccessful in finding repair shops for small kitchen appliances. His counter top oven (just a few years old) has a defective timer, and it seems there's no solution but to throw it away and purchase a new one. What a waste.

@normandc I'm glad you liked it. Yes, I feel for your dad. Sometimes you can find a Repair Cafe to help fix things, but not sure if they still hold them these days

Oh, that's cool, I didn't know this existed. Unfortunately, none are in our city.
