I'd love to form more of a community with other designers, especially those focused on and who share slash values.

If you do too, respond to this thread and we can see where it goes from there.

(boost appreciated!)

@clayton I'm much more of a coder than a designer, but I appreciate the importance of good UI design & always strive to follow good principles!

@clayton I really like #UX #UI myself, keep me informed if you're going further!

@sengi_app sweet! i think we'll start out simple by using the hashtag (and/or others people suggest) for conversations.

Eventually it might be cool to have some video chat get-togethers.

@clayton I'm more of a coder, but I appreciate great UX and code clarity :3

@lanesweets right on! it's nice to meet you. also, super cool that you work at a coop and use riseup for email 😺

@freedcreative nice to meet you!

I'm thinking we can start by using a common hashtag for sharing ideas, resources, our own work, etc.

I was thinking of simply using , it doesn't get a whole lot of traffic right now. What do you think?

@clayton Actually, you know on second thought I also really like the first tag you used, #LibreUX.

Even though #UX is a great tag we could start using too, #LibreUX is something pretty specific that could really use a community around it. There's already a well established set of UX tools, but libre UX tools are really just getting off the ground.

It also has a double meaning. I like the idea of considering libre principles when designing for user experiences. What are your thoughts?

@freedcreative

πŸ’― πŸ’― πŸ’― πŸ’―

I feel all that so much.

I'd love to work with you and others to move forward the Libre UX discipline. We can always use the more generic UX hashtag alongside it when helpful.

@clayton I'd love to hear a bit about where you and others are at in the process of trying to bring your UX and UI work over to libre.

Perhaps you could do the honours and start a #LibreUX thread where we could share and discuss?

@clayton I've started documenting ideas for post-capitalist design/ux and hope there is a community of practice for this. not sure if/how this overlaps, but maybe?

@colombene that sounds so rad. That is a great fit for what I'm envisioning.

I think to begin with would be start sharing ideas, resources, our work, etc. under a shared hashtag.

Honestly is relatively quiet, at least for me, so I'd be ok with us using that.

@clayton Not quite the designer you're talking about - but I work in architecture and design :) A highly proprietary Autodesk dominated industry ...

We need more #FreeSoftware!

@humanetech ooooh, cool. Yes I'm definitely interested. I'll try and make time to work on this next week.

@clayton great to hear that, and I am already looking forward curiously to those resources on your list. But take your time. Life should not be rushed :D
