I didn't know this, but apparently there's a new Navy warship called the USS Portland that's supposed to come to #Portland (#PDX) on August 21st.

Our mayor, of course, loves this.

I'm disgusted that the US Navy has decided to name their $1.6 billion war toy after our city, and I condemn our mayor's declaration of "USS Portland Day" in the strongest terms possible.

I under stand that the #antiwar movement isn't as strong as it used to be, but are we all really this complacent?
