The Amtrak bus driver that takes me from Salinas to the aquarium looked at me and said lemme guess you work at the aquarium.
I didn’t have my jacket or swag or badge or anything. Maybe we have a type?
When you book a train ticket on Amtrak you can set the destination as ‘Monterey Bay Aquarium’. That puts you on a connecting bus from Salinas to the aquarium directly
The bus will be there when you arrive in Salinas, it’s very easy
The hotels in the area that are walking distance from the aquarium are the Intercontinental, Wave Inn, and any of the many inns and bed and breakfasts in pacific grove. By doing that; you won’t need to drive at all. You can just walk places, or take a ride share.
The aquarium is in new Monterey. Old Monterey is downtown, a 7 min bus ride or 40 min walk along the coastal trail.
MST bus A, B, 1 and 2 are super convenient also and come pretty often. You don’t need a special card; just use any credit card and tap onboard.
@skinnylatte stop making it sound like it's convenient, you'll only make me want to visit
@chrisjrn you’ll definitely want to come after you hear me make a splash at my talk.
