every once in a while I think about this Reddit post, where a woman discovers her boyfriend has been consistently lying to her to keep her feeling bad

and whether the victims ever find out, and what scars are left behind

@brainwane I think there at (xtian, in the examples I am thinking of) religious groups that do this to women to get massive amounts of unpaid labor out of them. Maybe that's too entangled in other things to fit in this category without taking it over.
