Just to be clear, is it Debian's modifications that prevent me from enabling Firefox "Studies" to get the Mozilla supplied workaround for the extension disaster of 2019?
The option is greyed out with the text: "Data reporting is disabled for this build configuration".

OTOH, you *can* install firefox extensions with apt, and they will work fine as the expired cert does not affect them. xul-ext-ublock-origin
