Edurne @Gin

Good warning for “Designed or planned social order is necessarily schematic; it always ignores essential features of any real, functioning social order ... the simplified rules animating plans for, say, a city, a village or a collective farm were inadequate as a set of instructions for creating a functional social order, The formal scheme was parasitic on informal processes that, alone, it could not create or maintain.”
― James C. Scott, Seeing Like a State

@Gin interesting. which ways do you see it applying?

Being a member of a decentralised organisation has its own set of unique responsibilities: one of them is to keep an eye out for any 'wasted potential' rhetoric used to set up parasitic processes that centralise power and decision making.

It's no different for

@Gin do you see complete decentralization as the optimal state and any centralization the antithesis?

And what about formalized process? Is that a form of centralization?
