Conservative government approved tests:
☑️Tests to see if you're British enough
☑️Tests to see if 6 year olds are brainy enough
☑️Tests to see if their teachers work hard enough
☑️Tests to see if you're poor enough
☑️Tests to see if your house is small enough
☑️Tests to see if you're trying hard enough
☑️Tests to see if you're disabled enough

Conservative government rejected tests:
❎WHO recommended testing processes

A politician that understands how numbers work really inspires confidence. Unfortunately we have Priti Patel...

She also issued the classic non-apology.
"I'm sorry if people feel there have been failings"
So not sorry for any actual failings...

Doctors have asked well wishers to stop.
Boris keeps hiding in them, and it makes treating him much harder.

Well, Matt Hancock made us chuckle today with his counting 🤦🤣

You do need sound to appreciate the dissonance between the mouth and hand...

Now is the time to start having the conversations about universal basic income.

Or we could just talk about bailing out the air industry, who will not be paying some staff while they are on the ground, even if they as a business get help.

No business should receive support, *unless* they are passing that on to their staff.

But actually, just bypassing that all with UBI would be easier and better.

Just a bit that we have seen about Sabisky today.
In about 15 years of teaching we have probably taught and got to know upwards 2000 young people.

Sadly, one or two of them died prematurely. It happens sadly.
But, you know what.

Not ONE single kid we ever taught deserved to die 😡

“From a societal perspective, the benefits of giving everyone modafinil once a week are probably worth a dead kid once a year,” Mr Sabisky told the magazine.

Twitter may be awful, but every now and then someone send you a gem

BREAKING - In an attempt to prevent media intrusion, scrutiny and harassment, Prince Harry has announced his bid to become the new Scottish Tory leader.

My wife just sent me this photo of the bus window.

Someone local has been at work 👍

It wasn't even us 😝 Though we have other plans 😉

Alistair Jack, Secretary of State for Scotland on BBC Radio Scotland this morning.

Responding to the UK being called "a voluntary union of nations" uttered these words:

"I completely disagree with that"

Truth will out.

European Union -> No interference preventing the Brexit referendum.

UK (Voluntary Union?) -> Scotland not "permitted" to hold a referendum.

Audio clip:

(I cannot figure out a container for audio so self hosted)

The contempt is disgusting.

Walk out of Tory MPs, then Johnson playing with his phone. When called out on it asks for Blackford to "say something more interesting".

Called out by an SNP MP who is quite right when he says "looking at his phone is more interesting than hearing what Scotland needs. Doesn't that tell you everything about this Prime Minister and his view of Scotland"

If you were not quite sure that Scotland wasn't actually a separate country, well this map kind of shows it...

I know we are attached by land and we speak the same basic language, but don't be fooled by that.

I'm in a Conservative area 😬 , but the Tories only edged it by 843 votes.

SNP took 81% of the seats up here.

The Tories took 57% in the rest of the UK.
In England the Tories took 64.5% of the seats.
In Scotland the Tories took 10% of the seats.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 != 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 + ❄️

Tangential to previous Toots.

Watching people elsewhere talk about voting.

If you turn your back on the harms done to people and allow your vote to enable people that are racist, homophobic, misogynistic...

Well then you can say you are not all of those things, but really you are not any better in our eyes.

Stand up and be counted.

I am reminded of the Karl Popper cartoon...

Not only are the parties not supposed to look at them, but *you* are not supposed to report on them!

Will be swept under the carpet I am sure...

We still have time.
Who wants to sink lower?
Race to the bottom of the sewer is on.

No way he would *ever* do that...

Opinion: I wish Boris Johnson could sit in my GP’s chair and tell my sick and suffering patients we cannot give them what they need

Good analysis

"...the BBC and ITV. One of the protections against our feral press was that we had a mixed commercial and public service broadcast system which could be relatively immune to political and commercial pressure.

Kuenssberg and Peston have shown the other hidden danger: the danger of client journalism, of editors in hock to their sources thanks to the clubbish cliqueness of the lobby system of unattributed briefings."

Want to see a combination of lack of empathy and privileged attitude when taking someone's property in order to subtly bully the other person.

Credit to the reporter for calmly holding his ground.

He really is a detestable creature.

Ballots are supposed to be secret. Postal or otherwise. So is he just *pretending* to have committed electoral fraud to big up his support, or has he *actually* committed electoral fraud?
