In the spirit of (no pun intended) todays celebration of the resurrection of Christ from his limited incarnated body to his current unlimited omnipresent representation: I would like to take this opportunity to initiate discussion over the co-evolution of religion and government. As a college student, an active Christian, and a member of the Zeitgeist Movement, I feel like if humanity is to reach our next stage of social evolution, we need to understand causality. #Easter #Causality #Science
@Antanicus Right. That reminds me of the link between who controls scarce resources and who has access to those scarce resources. With religion being the dominant influence over decision making, its no wonder humanity has not been able to solve the climate crisis yet. Any holistic solution must be collective and inclusive. And when it comes down to it, Jesus recommended the same throughout the New Testament.
@Antanicus @Ajisai so has everything else they can get their hands on. But religion without organization can enable tyrannies of structurelessness that are even worse at holding ruling classes accountable. Organized religion has also carried radical tales through a history that would otherwise have crushed them. Christos anesti!
